Getting Ready to Learn: Using Media Resources to Support Young Learners

As the 2020-21 school year ends, we can look ahead together to a brighter 2021-22 school year. Helping young learners prepare for the new school year and build critical literacy and academic skills is a head start for success. In this edWebinar, educators from the WNET Group, New York’s flagship PBS station, and representatives from the New York City Department of Education will share how the city’s Early Literacy Team is meeting the challenges of equity and excellence for every learner. These master educators will share pedagogy, practical tips and techniques for integrating media resources into everyday learning activities for young learners at school and at home to introduce, reinforce and enrich learning for every young child. edWebinar attendees will get a special preview of some of the literacy, science, math, and social studies videos and accompanying resources that teachers and parents can use to ignite curiosity, build foundational skills, and introduce children to the wonder and joy of learning.

This edWebinar will be of interest to preK through elementary teachers, librarians, school and district leaders, professional development leaders, curriculum leaders, technology directors and coordinators, and early childhood program directors. There will be time for questions at the end of the presentation.
