Every day, every student will bring their developing brain and their developing identity to school. As teachers and school leaders, we can implement research from the Science of Learning and diversity, equity, and belonging to benefit all students. This edWebinar will explore how principles from these two fields intersect to support teaching, learning, and the student experience. The presenters will share and use a tool for reflection on teaching practice and creating a culture of belonging in our school communities.

Are we teaching, interacting, and designing with the insight that emotion and cognition are interlinked? How can we support academic growth, identity development, and identity validation? What do we take into consideration when developing policies and practices in our schools? Attendees will identify areas of strength and opportunities for growth within their sphere of influence.

This edWebinar will be of interest to PreK-12 teachers, librarians, and school and district leaders. There will be time for questions at the end of the presentation.
