April 2023 Choose-Your-Own Training Day

The April Trainings are on Friday,  April 21st.  Any and all staff and SEEKERS are welcome to attend.  The day will begin with a agency-wide disaster drill from 8:30-10:30am.   The earliest training sessions will start after the drill, at 11:00am.  There will be many fun wellness activities throughout Whiteaker in the afternoon, including Art Exploration, Hula Hooping, a Labyrinth Maze, and Kickball.

 

ChildPlus Basics & Introduction to ChildPlus Online
Whiteaker Computer Lab from 11:00 am – 12:00 pm, facilitated by Mary Groesbeck
New to using ChildPlus?  Learn how to login to the system, access child & family information, and view your personnel file.  Explore ChildPlus Online, navigate online features, and use the Performance Panel.  Limit 15.

 

Handwriting Without Tears
Whiteaker Room 7 from 11:00 am – 12:30 pm, facilitated by David Neubauer and Alexus Tyquiengco
Introduction to the Handwriting Without Tears curriculum and materials.  Open to staff who did not attend the fall session.  Limit 25.

 

Puppetry in the Classroom
Whiteaker Cafeteria from 11:00 am – 12:30 pm, facilitated by Shanna Matti & Stacey Conrad
Come join us for some hands on fun with puppets.  Ideas will be shared for how puppets can be used in the classroom along with practice time to increase your comfort level.  Limit 25.

 

ChildPlus: Basics of Reporting

Explore the most useful ChildPlus reports.  Learn how to configure reports to capture the information you seek.  Export and manipulate reports for personalized use.  Limit 15.

 

Adult Wellness:  Hula Hoop Make & Take

Join us for a fun adult wellness activity!  Make your own hula hoop and practice your moves.  Limit 25.
Sensory Make & Take
Whiteaker Gym from 1:30 pm -2:30 pm, facilitated by Gena Boyette & Stephenie Kearney with special guests Kristen Newell & Molly Smith from Early Childhood CARES
Join us for a fun, hands on, stress relieving, exploration on sensory play in the classroom. There will be 3 stations to explore and some make-and-take opportunities. We will be using non-toxic ingredients to make sensory bags, various sensory Play-Doh’s, engaging in hands on playtime with sensory items in classrooms that often get overlooked, and exploring various items from the Early Childhood CARES library that are available to support children on IFSP’s. Recipes and how it all links to child development and TS GOLD objectives will also be included.  Open to staff who did not attend the fall session.  Limit 30.

Learn how to take good pictures for ChildPlus and how to use tools to edit them to get the best picture possible.  Limit 15.
