In November we were able to organize a book fair at Whiteaker Head Start thanks to a donation of books from the Eugene Public Library.
With the help of our ever serving Facilities crew, Kerry Holmes, and Whiteaker staff, we were able to setup a cozy area for children to come and pick out a book of their very own to take home.

Children were given tickets at the door. Once they picked their book, they went to the cash register and “purchased” their book with their ticket and were given a bookmark in exchange. Over 100 books were given out this day!

Everyone was happy, and the presence of togetherness and community was felt by all.

This was a moment in time where I got to think to myself, “I can’t believe this is my job.” Head Start is a wonderful place to be.
