Community Resiliency Model (CRM) Parent/Caregiver Training: Part 1

(NOTE FROM MARY G:  I’m unsure if this will result in a training certificate or not; I sent an email to ask.)

The San Mateo County Office of Education provides programs and services to school districts to support student mental health and wellness.

About this event

The Community Resiliency Model (CRM)® is a mental health training for parents, caregivers, and community members to support families and their wider social network. The primary focus of this skills-based program is to re-set the natural balance of the nervous system in order to bring the body, mind, and spirit back into greater balance.

CRM’s goal is to help to create “trauma-informed” and “resiliency-focused” communities that share a common understanding of the impact of trauma and chronic stress on the nervous system, and how resiliency can be restored or increased using this skills-based approach.

Join Mary McGrath, Executive Director of Safe and Supportive Schools, SMCOE; Molly Henricks, Coordinator of School Safety and Risk Prevention, SMCOE; and Shana Karashima, Coordinator of Multi-Tiered Systems of Support, SUHSD, for a special Community Resiliency Model (CRM)® training for parents and caregivers.

The free, two-part training will focus on the six CRM wellness skillsas well as the neuroscience behind the model. Attendees are encouraged to attend both trainings, as Part 1 and Part 2 will each focus on three of the CRM wellness skills.

NOTE: You will be emailed a Zoom link on the day of the event. Look for subject line “ZOOM LINK – CRM Parent/Caregiver Training.” Link also included in Eventbrite Order Notification email and upon registration (click “View Online Content”).

Parents, caregivers, educators, mental health professionals, and community members welcome! Free admission. Spanish interpretation will be available.

This special training is sponsored by the San Mateo County Office of Education and Sequoia Union High School District, in partnership with The Parent Venture.
