In the 2015-16 school year, nearly 102,000 students in Oregon - more than one in six children - were chronically absent from school. Nationally, Oregon’s chronic absenteeism rate consistently ranks within the bottom 20 percent of states.

Absenteeism hits hardest among some of our most vulnerable populations. A new report maps the attendance gaps. http://bit.ly/1eHw4Ul

Policy Council is responding to these trends by sponsoring the November Attendance Contest. Awards are parent focused and for most improved attendance and prefect attendance. It is the Council's goal to help establish the routines and expectation that success comes from attending!

How does a parent get into the drawing? Bring their child to school. Names will go into a drawing at each center for most improvement ($10.00) and perfect attendance ($25.00) gift card.
